The Nightjars – The Nightjars

There are plenty of punk revivalists and plenty of 60’s psychedelic revivalists as well. There aren’t, however, too many psychedelic punk bands out there that really get a strong feel of both types of music. And not many that do it well.

The Nightjars have put together an album that is rich in detail from its core outwards. They can overwhelm so well that sometimes you wish for a few instrumental pieces just to focus on what their minstrels are capable of.

The album as a whole works magic as it could both be a soothing listen, yet exciting to genre fans at the same time. A talent for the sounds and repeating a movement is one thing, but being a good songwriter at the same time is what really takes it up to the next level.
