Buffy Saint Marie has been on the musical menagerie for over 4 decades and this is her first release in 17 years. Buffy likes to keep her lyrics relevant to the hubbub of modern life and writes about all things politics, art and her own biblical background – aboriginal. Surrounding herself in all things acoustic and mellow she certainly doesnt rest on her laurels with her wailings. ‘No No Keshagesh’ is all about greed and glutton of modern living. Whilst ‘working for the government’ does what it says and portraits how the grind of political life merely affirms that those employees are completely oblivous of their actions to the people who brought them to power. Mixing this up with the ballad ‘when i had you’ Buffy is some what heartfelt and isnt afraid to admit the error of a previous relationship. Generally its a torch bearing album and one that her existing followers will continue to stick with.
