Spinnerette 'Baptized By Fire'

Having given fans a taste of her new direction on the four track EP Ghetto Love, Brody Dalle returns with a new Spinnerette single Baptized By Fire on July 13th.

Baptized By Fire’s juddering electro-rock features Dalle’s trademark Banshee war cry but – this time – melded with sweeter harmonic layers. The single is available on 7” vinyl – backed with Spinnerette’s cover of Devo’s ‘The Day My Baby Gave Me A Surprise’ – and as a digital download.

Dalle hit the UK for sell-out shows in February with Spinnerette band mates Tony Bevilacqua (guitar, vocals); Bryan Tulao (guitar); Dave Hidalgo Jr (drums) and Vinny Hidalgo (bass) and will be back for more headline dates and festivals this summer.

Spinnerette release their debut album on June 15th on Anthem/Hassle Records in the UK. Recorded in Los Angeles at Pink Duck, the family studio of Joshua Homme & Brody Dalle, and at 11 AD the studio belonging to Spinnerette producer Alain Johannes, the album features 13 tracks inspired by the twists and turns Dalle’s life has taken since the demise of The Distillers in 2006. On her debut as Spinnerette, the joy of matrimony and motherhood contrasts sharply with the tragedy striking those closest to her. As Dalle describes it, “Spinnerette is what happens when I let the tap flow”.
