The Capitol Years – You Can Stay There

This eight and a half minute lesson in swooning, jangling, indie-power-pop is one that the latest bunch of miserable Joy Division copyists would do well to take notes from.

A-side”You Can Stay There” invokes thoughts of Evan Dando, circa Car Button Cloth, fronting Pavement. B-side “1000 Guns” follows in a similar vein, but throws Breeders-esque backing vocals and bass fills into the mix aswell.

All in all, Shai, Son of Eli, has written a pair delicious alt. pop gems, a sound which will always bring a smile to the face of that 90’s kid inside of everyone.
