Fever Ray – Triangle Walks

Fever Ray, aka Karin Dreijer Andersson, aka one half of Swedish electro due The Knife, has been hitting out on her own recently with her debut full-length. “Triangle Walks” is the third single from that effort and it’s a good one. Vocally, comparisons to Björk are obvious and deserved as she nymphishly flows through gently haunting melodies while the production, geared for an ambient sound, is heavy with interesting percussion and a neat chorus synth line that mirrors the angular hook very prettily. It’s pristinely delivered electropop.

We’re spoilt for choice with the seven different remixes serving as b-sides, each interpretation works a different angle and warrants a listen. Knife fans might be waiting anxiously for a follow-up to 2006’s Silent Shout, but Andersson’s clearly been spending her time well.
