Sheffield based five-piece Laruso are set to release the single ‘Plain Paper Napkins’ through Autonomy Music on August 3rd. The track is taken from their debut album ‘A Classic Case of Cause & Effect’, which is out now.
Influenced by acts as varied as Deftones, Faith No more, Taking Back Sunday, Meshuggah and Alice In Chains – Laruso’s resulting sound is like no other. Recorded and written in 2008, the 12-track collection A Classic Case Of Cause And Effect showcases these talented musicians' ability to fuse beauty with the beast-combining delicate melody and sensitive dynamics with hard-hitting instrumentals and shuddering, epic power.
Plain Paper Napkins is an ode to all struggling bands out in the real world. As Liv (vocals) says: ‘The song is about writing your favourite songs in your basement, pouring your heart and soul on paper, getting the music out there and hoping for something to take off. But it’s also about the love of making music, no matter what.’
And, he adds, ‘That’s also our approach to live performances. We’re so looking forward to hitting the road at the end of the month, it’s gonna be a blast ‘
Laruso have toured up and down the country with bands such as Reuben, Armor For Sleep, yourcodenameis:milo, and Million Dead. Following a support slot on Fightstar’s tour earlier this summer, Laruso are set to play their own headline shows on the following UK dates:
