Spinnerette – Baptized By Fire

The Brody Dalle of Spinnerette is much removed from the sneering Distillers frontwoman, the punk stylings have faded and time appears to have sharpened a sense of melody that wasn’t too shabby first time around as she lines up some stellar hooks on this third single from the band’s acclaimed debut.

The production is simple yet polished, never allowing the anything to outshine the real draw of Spinnerette – Dalle’s irresistible vocals, which excite to goosebump levels on the rousing chorus. As re-inventions go, the frontlady’s latest project is a palpable success.
