They’ve been impressing at the likes of the Whitby Goth Weekend, and here they come now with their double A-Side (Still not sure if that makes any sense) single(s) Ballerina/The Butterfly. So nasty Lacuna Coil-esque guitar riffs aside, Ballerina is a very mystically pretty song. The gloomy fairytale music in both songs are complimented by child-like vocals which is almost reminiscent of Darkwave favourites Switchblade Symphony.
If RBK continue on this path they may have something very special indeed to say as artists. The trip-hop, string, electronic and acoustical elements of their music is pure magic. Let’s hope they can keep the urge to have raging guitar riffs out the way or they’ll end up being compared to Evanescence instead.
