Bloom Festival, which was due to take place on the 16th to the 18th of August at Chepstow Racecourse has been cancelled.
This years event ahs been axed due to a number of reasons. Having to change the venue at the last minute and the current economic climate have been blamed.
Acts that had been confirmed to perform at the festival include Frankmusic, Filthy Dukes, and James Yuill.
Speaking of the situation, organiser Olivia Chapman said, “It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for us to make, as Bloom is an independently run organisation, built from our very heart and souls.
We have worked tirelessly for the best part of nine months on this event which makes it very hard for us to walk away from it. However, we have to think of the bigger picture and we feel that we are making the right decision”.
For fans who have purchased tickets, there are a number of options on offer. For an extra supplement of £22.50 tickets can be swapped for entry to Beachdown weekend which runs form the 28th to the 31st of August.
Festival organisers have also announced that festival goers who have bought a ticket for this years event will automatically receive a ticket for 2010, as well as an additional free one.
A free party for all ticket holders will be held in Bristol on the 15th August. Details of this are yet to come.
