Bloc Party – One More Chance

New Bloc Party single ‘One More Chance’ is a killer dance tune with a 90s house track sound. Die hard fans of the ‘Silent Alarm’ rock sound will be disappointed in the musical direction Bloc Party have taken. Progressing from the dancey feel of ‘Intimacy’, the band have clenched tight their drum machines, synths and disco balls and headed straight for the club dance floor.

‘One More Chance’ manipulates a simple, stripped back piano line, which loops over throughout. The drum machine adds a beat, then in come Kele Okereke’s distinctive vocals. As soon as the guitars kick in, what could have been another standard dance track becomes uniquely a Bloc Party song.

The track sounds strangely like a remix, even though it is the original release, but that is just the dance-floor treatment it has been produced with. Mixed by producer of the moment, Jacknife Lee, this song is destined to be labeled a `floor filler’.

‘One More Chance’ is one more of those tracks like ‘One More Time’ from Daft Punk. With similarly repetitive choruses these songs stick in your head, drilling away at your brain like a 1000 volt jack-hammer. `One More Chance’ is a new sound for Bloc Party, and it is a fantastically catchy club track. This song is more infectious than swine flu!
