Baxter – Standing On The Edge Of The Tide

If I were asked to describe Baxter in one word I would have to say inoffensive. If I were to be asked to describe Baxter in two words I think I’d struggle. Mostly inoffensive would probably have to do. If the End of the world, their debut EP, is in any way prophetic then we’re all going out in a flatulent wheeze rather than a big bang. Their sound is tepid, far too horizontal to be labelled laid back and lacking in charm, chemistry and indeed wit. Look for them in the live lounge covering Bloc Party’s Flux or suchlike sometime soon.
