Flaming Lips Collaborate With MGMT & Yeah Yeah Yeah
MGMT and Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O make guest appearances on The Flaming Lips' next album, frontman Wayne Coyne has revealed.
The US band are set to release a a double album, 'Embryonic' in the autumn. The release date is strongly tipped to be October 12, though this is yet to be officially confirmed.
“We have MGMT doing a song with us and we have Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs doing a couple songs with us,” frontman Wayne Coyne told Swiss music site Die Klangschau of the band's guests. “For the Karen O tracks, I just called her up in her hotel room and we just did it right over the telephone. It's pretty absurd.”
The band are set to play a series of UK live dates in November.
The Flaming Lips will play:
