Dolores O’Riordan – The Journey

With such a distinctive voice Dolores O’Riordan is instantly recognisable and of course her work with the Cranberries instantly comes to mind. The Journey has a very big power ballad feel to it. Both of the songs on this single sound like Cranberries tracks would if they had been into doing ballads. Musically they are really difficult to classify, I’m not sure who they are meant to appeal to. The Loser has a catchy chorus that is bound to get stuck in your head almost as soon as you hear it. These two songs are both very easy to listen to, but there is nothing that will really make them stand out. I don’t think that it’s likely that they will fuel any massive interest in O’Riordan’s come back after quite a long absence.
