Its been a matter of months since Ocean Reid sailed into Brighton with his guitar, set up his own recording studio, recruited his new band and started recording his debut full length album with Tim Bidwell, producer to the likes of Kate Walsh.
Originally from Yorkshire Ocean has lived all over the UK over the years homing his craft and even collaborating with the likes of Bond movie composer David Arnold. For the moment he is happy to call the vibrant seaside city home. It didn’t take long for Brighton to claim this young talent as their own being appearing on BBC southern counties radio, being championed by the local press and invited to perform for club NME.
Ocean’s debut single Talking Dead was released worldwide by his own label Surreal Records on 17th August. Produced in New York by Alex Newport (Death Cab For Cutie, Peggy Sue), the new single has been picking up plays on Radio 2 and XFM, securing live sessiona and praise such as “like Jack Penate meets Frank Turner (but without the politics)”.
