Gallows - I Dread The Night
Album Review

Gallows – I Dread The Night

A typical raw Gallows sound that you’d expect, a definitely angry song, that seems to be attacking binge drinking and drug use, which is fine, but he almost makes it seem magical and tough and a great thing.

Anyway, that aside the lyrics that stand out the most, are the panicked ‘If I said I wasn’t scared I’d be a f****** liar’ which some have said is about his fear that the album wouldn’t sell out like the last. The riffs are very boring, and there is nothing that makes you want to pick this single off the shelf. Don’t get me wrong, I was a massive fan of the first album, and even of a few tracks off the second, I just didn’t expect them to release such a boring, monotonous and seeimingly ‘we’ve sold out so can write whatever we want and people will buy it’second album. There are bigger tracks on the album, and yes, ok I thought this was filler, and ok, it has a message, but aside from the heated lyrics and livid beat, it’s a song you could play loud on repeat to piss off your parents, but to be fair, the moral of the story is could do better…
