2008 X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke first entered the charts in December with her number one single ‘Hallelujah’. Now she’s back with a brand new track ready to take the number one spot again. The upbeat new single ‘Bad Boys’ featuring Flo Rida is a big change from Alexandra’s first release. This song is sure to have you singing along to the chorus whether you like it or not.
In addition to showing off her vocal ability and flawless harmonisation that we all witnessed during her time on the X-Factor, the commercial Hip “Pop” style almost guarantees this track to be one of the top 10s in the charts this year. The verses don’t have much of a melody, but more so a punchy rhythmic style, which makes the introduction of the melodic, synth-packed chorus even more effective. The sharp memorable lyrics and varied tune make the song that much more chart-worthy. Rapper Flo Rida adds some much needed flavour to this otherwise quite generic (X-Factor signed artist) Pop song.
Nobody wants another cheesy tune like ‘Beat Again’ miraculously squeezing its way into the top 10 and playing out on our radios day in day out. Instead, Alexandra and Flo Rida have collaborated to create a catchy yet likeable potential chart topper for 2009.
