Lethal Bizzle – Going Out Tonight

Blase, glitzy self-promoting urban edged, London hip-hop has been given the seal of approval by Pete Doherty and radio glitterati, such as Zane Lowe. This flavour continues into ‘Going Out Tonight’, A boastful single taken from upcoming third album,‘Go Hard’.

It continues Bizzle’s trend of what you see and hear is what you get. There are no hidden sides to him and the ‘Original Radio Edit’, glossily draws this out, with the help from some floating diva backing that rubs off Lethal’s projected bravado.

Of course, the focus is on the bravado and whilst he doesn’t have doesn’t have Dizzee Rascal’s rugged touch, it helps him make his sub-three minute snap, extremely radio friendly for its universal appeal and inoffensive high jinks. Although, some people and purists argue that music of this cut needs some aggression and a bit of disdain? They won’t find it here.

A ‘RobotSonics Remix’, fattens out the bass and stretches the boasting in order to instil a bit of grit. Yet, in places, it just serves to show up the lack of real edge and this is a song best popped up to the extent that it could be used by a Britains’ Got Talent Contestant (remember DJ Talent? No, of course you don’t).

Whether the horizon lurking album that includes work with producers such as Mark Ronson and Dexplicit, can help give Da Bizzle variety and a bit more bite remains to be seen? This single just tends to follow previous trends a little too much for you to get excited about his future releases.
