Wall Street Riots – One More Ride

Wall Street Riots is indeed a very appropriate and topical name, in an age of naughty bankers, money grabbing scoundrels and a crushing recession, their name provides a cute irony which instantly makes them a band you’d love to like.

“One More Ride” their latest single however carries no irony, contemporary wit or interesting intelligence and instead reverts to some enjoyable yet worn “da-da-da-da’s” and the overall suggestion that this simple song would sound fantastic live but ultimately needs that hot and vile atmosphere of sweating youngsters to truly connect.

Having said that, the remix available on the single’s B-Side carries a deviant structure that gives the song that something extra, it sounds less contrived, almost wild and though I’m ashamed to admit it, made me stand up, hang my arms low and shake my shoulders, as though I was being shot by a thousand silver bullets. Exciting stuff.
