Phonat – Set Me Free

If Phonat’s “Set Me Free” taught me anything is that I didn’t do enough with my Summer. The song is so luxurious in its sunny texture that its whole duration, that’s six minutes and thirty six seconds for those who admire a precise reviewer, felt like an afternoon lazing underneath a crimson glow, cloudy lemonade to one side and a stereo to the other; the stereo getting progressively louder and the lemonade progressively emptier.

If I had heard this electronic anthem for the frolicking beach-bather on the first of July, my Summer may have been a holiday of dancing, sand, sea and sun as its chorus provides enough collective enthusiasm to stop the rain and the grey and make way for a carnival of colour.

Let’s fly away!
