The Zombies 18 Date UK Tour

Not many groups can boast a career like The Zombies’. One of the most quietly inspirational bands of the last four decades, they are cited as influences by Fleet Foxes, the Arctic Monkeys, Paul Weller, Super Furry Animals, Billy Joel and Courtney Love amongst many, many others.

'The musicians who cite The Zombies as influential are legion.' MOJO, February 2008

Most recently they have enjoyed a deserved resurgence, selling out shows at London's Shepherds Bush Empire for three dates in March 2008, where four original members of the band played their landmark album, 'Odessey and Oracle' in its entirety for the first time in The Zombies’ history – the band split up before it was originally released in 1967. The reaction to those shows was so great that the reunited band toured earlier this year playing Odessey & Oracle in Bristol, Glasgow, London and Manchester. Almost ignored on its release 'Odessey and Oracle' is now garnering the recognition and praise it rightfully deserves, being lauded by Uncut as being 'a landmark work of British psychedelia' and awarded the 'Classic Album Award' at the 2009 MOJO Honours List at which Rod Argent said: “I'm thrilled that we've received this award. It's so gratifying that 42 years after we made the album it should still seem so relevant to so many contemporary artists. Just at the ceremony, Paul Weller commented that Odessey & Oracle was his favourite album, and the Fleet Foxes said to us how inspirational they had found it.”

'O&O has become one of the most talked about and critically acclaimed albums…ever' Clash, May 2008

A testament to their inspiration and pop credibility is the sheer amount of bands and artists who have covered original Zombies tracks, including Crowded House, Dave Matthews Band, Foo Fighters, Santana, The Beautiful South, Belle and Sebastian and even Gym Class Heroes, who covered 'Time of the Season' on their campus tour in 2008. The Zombies are 'musician's musicians', an accolade that many of their musical ancestors strive to emulate and achieve.

'Odessey and Oracle slowly worked its subtle magic…and became a byword for the archetypal lost psyche classic' Classic Rock, May 2008

Classic songs such as 'Time of the Season' and 'She's Not There' showcase the craftsmanship and musicianship that has made them so significant within the world of music. 'Time of the Season' was recently used for Magners Cider commercials, bringing the timeless classic to a new generation and both songs were also used on the hit US show, 'American Idol.' The Zombies' songs have endured, will always remain fresh and relevant and ever continue to inspire.

'Those lush harmonies and chamber-pop arrangements seduce new fans every year' Uncut, December 2007

The Zombies will be touring the UK this October playing the classic hits that have made them the legendary group they are today. The Zombies touring band contains original members COLIN BLUNSTONE (lead vocals) and ROD ARGENT (keyboards & vocals), plus Jim Rodford (bass), Keith Airey (guitar) and Steve Rodford (drums).
