Ben Taylor returns with the John Forté penned single ‘Wilderness’, an easy-on-the-ear gem of funk-folk on which Ben is joined by Jamie Cullum on piano and David Saw on guitar.
As the son of two of America’s most acclaimed singer-songwriters, James Taylor and Carly Simon, Ben has managed to follow in his father’s folk-influenced footsteps whilst also carving out a different path with his own unique, hybrid style of blissed-out beach music. ‘The Legend Of Kung Folk’ is his third album – his previous releases include debut album, ‘Famous Among the Barns’, and Radio 2’s Record of the Week ‘Another Run Around The Sun’ – keenly displays his knack for writing a good tune with insightful lyrics and deft musicianship.
The only cover on the album ‘Wilderness’ is written by US rapper and producer John Forté. “I always wanted to cover one of John’s songs. I did not listen to the demo as I think it is better to cover songs you don’t know too well so you can be more free in your interpretation of an idea” explains Ben.
Following his debut performance at Glastonbury this summer and a run of live shows Ben returns to Britain for a 16-date tour
