Dead Copycats -
Album Review

Dead Copycats –

At times when listening to Dead Copycats, I was reminded of moments in my life when I wished there was a band playing just behind my shoulder. They’ve got a sensual swagger and the right amount of attitude to be the band that you’d choose to soundtrack your epic run into your long lost partners arms.

In “Away From Me” the mistress of sultry suggestion that is Jessica Braun howls “I’ve got soul” and soul she has. Lungs, lips and lyrics combine to give our cross-over of The Long Blonde’s Kate Jackson and a banshee the command to control a collection of songs that imply passion, heart, dedication and togetherness but never really brilliance or fun.

“Strength” is a step in the right direction; jolty and jaunty, bouncy and bold, but truthfully it becomes one of a handful of songs that muster any other emotion that “content”

Dead Copycats stint as my personal sound tracker’s therefore may have to be cut short, through a distinct lack of life.
