Summer Mencher –
American songstress Summer has a strong voice with a lot of warmth to it and should definitely stick to singing in her tracks rather than the rapping which features in Stranger to Stronger.
The melodies of her tracks don’t always take the path you expect them to so each one has an unconventional aspect yet they all work. Cold Wars is probably the best example of this. The melody and rhythm twist and turn constantly throughout the whole track making it almost impossible to predict where they’re going to go next, but along with her combination of strings and acoustic guitar the track is still powerful and has Summer’s originality written all over it.
She also seems to be a very versatile songwriter and her influences seem to constantly vary with one track sounding very folk inspired but the next having a rock edge and the next sounding more of a country track. This versatility along with her motivational lyrics make it easy to see why Summer has already opened for numerous well known artists like Cindy Lauper and is likely to continue to have a very successful musical career.
