Sound of Guns release an EP, entitled ‘Elementary of Youth’ on October 26th through Distiller Records. The EP will be available on a 7” gatefold single, which will include a CD and the band’s own fanzine ‘Retail Rodeo’ and digital download. Comprising of four tracks, ‘Elementary of Youth’, ‘Lightspeed’ (both mixed by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers/Idlewild), ‘Dead Sea Scrolls’ and ‘Gallantry’.
Liverpool’s Sound Of Guns came together with a common goal a love for good passionate music, and to forge a sound akin to their collective influences…from Foo Fighters to Led Zeppelin, and The Walkmen to The Doors. This diversity helps them cast off the usual sound associated with their hometown, Sound Of Guns have chosen anthemic power chords over jangly guitars and riotous gang vocals over quirky lyricism. An experience of epic proportions!
SOG are a finely tuned musical juggernaut who are mercilessly shifting through the gears and clocking up sufficient mileage with their relentless workaholic ethics, as they look to emerge out of the shadows of obscurity and into the unforgiving threshold of popular culture. Their last single ‘Architects’ clocked up an impressive fifteen plays on Radio One and the band performed four times at this year’s Glastonbury Festival plus a main stage appearance at the Latitude Festival. The band have already been featured as Steve Lamacq’s favourite new band on his 6music show and lead track ‘Elementary of Youth’ was recently Zane Lowe’s ‘hottest record in the world’ on his Radio One show.
