Naturally 7 Unplugged: In the Air Tonight

Following a hugely successful run of live gigs earlier in the year, a cappella superstars Naturally 7 return for a string of further UK dates, including three performances at the 2009 London Jazz Festival in association with BBC Radio 3.

Growing out of the a cappella tradition of groups such as Take 6 and the soulful R&B of Boyz II Men and Jodeci, Naturally 7’s unique take on the art of the human voice is unlike anything else. More than just a vocal group, they use beat-boxing, instrumental imitation and their sumptuous close-harmony singing to bring their “vocal-play” to life, effortlessly blending soul, pop and jazz ideas to create a complete sound that is in a league of its own.

Their astonishingly versatile voices provide not just the lyrics, melodies and harmonies, but every musical instrument in a spectacular live performance. YouTube has been their major showcase – their exuberant vocal display on the Paris metro has already been seen by over seven million people, but it’s the live experience that really makes this New York group stand out, something that has to be seen to be believed!

With five albums to date, from their 2000 debut Non-Fiction to this year’s Wall Of Sound, and celebrity fans across the world including Coldplay’s Chris Martin and the great Quincy Jones (they performed at Jones’ 75th birthday concert), Naturally 7 are taking the world by storm. Be sure to catch their incredible live show this autumn!
