Over the last three years, urban three-piece N-Dubz have surpassed all expectation; selling over 500,000 albums, completing a critically acclaimed sell out debut UK tour, picking up four MOBO nominations and scoring a No.1 single along the way. Now, Dappy, Tulisa and Fazer truly ascend from the underground to claim mainstream domination with brand new single, ‘I Need You’ released 9th November.
The single precedes the new N-Dubz album, released on November 16th. The band have spent the past six months writing and producing the record with a selection of the countries hottest talent, including Kanye West protégé Mr Hudson, Gary Barlow and Fraser T Smith (the producer behind No.1 hits from Tinchy Stryder and Pixie Lott this year).
The last twelve months have been a breakthrough year for N-Dubz. Finding a new home at independent label All Around The World in early 2008, the band issued the smash hit single ‘Ouch’ in October of the same year. With the video receiving over nine million views on YouTube, the song burst from the underground to become the soundtrack to millions of teenagers’ lives. Three further hit singles followed, as well a platinum debut album (which has sold over 500,000 copies to date).
N-Dubz followed this success with a sell out UK tour and collaboration with friend and newcomer Tinchy Stryder on the track ‘Number One.’ Living up to its title, the song remained aloft the official singles chart for three weeks and became one of the year’s biggest selling singles.
