The New York based quintet Cobra Starship seem to have exploded out of almost nowhere here in the UK with their first single ‘ Good Girls Go Bad’ from their 3rd studio album ‘Hot Mess’. Although having singles such as ‘The City Is At War’ which made far less impact on the musical scene but did start to build up a niche and loyal fan base due to their less poppy and unique style.
‘Good Girls Go Bad’ is moving more towards a mainstream sound and definitely a song to get the party started with it’s catchy hooks and synthesised beats that pulse so easily through your body. Also Gabe Saporta’s voice is one that won’t be forgotten due to the sexy Latino twang in it and as if this wasn’t enough this song also features guest vocals from Leighton Meester to spice things up even more. I feel this single is the one to set these Cobra’s on the fast track in the music scene of today simply because it could be enjoyed at every party and played on radio stations all around. I think this song will create a much larger fan base for these guys and things are going to start going a lot faster in their careers. The one thing everyone must be thinking now is whats next for these guys? Another platinum single maybe? We will all have to wait and see.
