Has Cheryl Got The X Factor? P.Diddy Gets Frisky & RIP Stephen Gately

The saddest music news of the week must have been the burial of Stephen Gately. It is so sad that someone so sweet and with so much ahead of him had to die so young. My heart goes out to Stephen's family and friends. It must be extremely difficult for his parents; I can only imagine how heartbreaking it must be to lose a child. So now let's hope the press can let Stephen rest in peace and give his loved ones space to mourn privately. It's been established that Stephen died of natural causes so the press should now stop looking for conspiracy theories and gossip, and let it be.

Now from one extreme to the other, the best music news story had to be P.Diddy. In true bling style he threw cash into the audience of a show and in the process lost a $20,000 ring. He then put a lock down on the studio and frisked the entire audience. How funny, although I'm guessing the audience didn't see it that way. And in true 21st century style he later twittered: 'It's ok to lose things because it makes you appreciate what you still have! I didn't like that ring any way!' Imagine the average person losing a $20,000 ring, in English pounds that's probably close to fifthteen grand, I think they'd be slightly more concerned. Although, it does beg the question of why the hell would someone spend that much on a ring in the first place? Fair enough, to P. Diddy who I'm assuming has millions, $20,000 is probably a drop in the ocean. And apparently, Jay-Z bought Beyonce a 5 million dollar (yep, you heard right FIVE MILLION) engagement ring. However, I just could not justify spending that amount of money on jewellery it seems so pointless. Although I'm not a materialistic person so it wouldn't really matter to me, but I suppose as gift for someone else? Still if I was given an engagement ring worth five million I would most definitely pawn it and buy the delicious Red Hot Chili Peppers front man Anthony Kiedis Mmmmmm.

Finally, and I apologise in advance but I have too mention the X Factor. It is the perfect hangover TV, miss it on a Saturday night because you're out & about, catch up with it on ITV+1, ITV2, ITV3,4, 5, 6, and 7 et cetera. This week the lovely Cheryl Cole performed her new solo single. It seems she had mixed reviews, some loved it and some loathed it. I wouldn't say it was her best moment, but no doubt her army of fans will buy it in their droves regardless. Also, I just have to mention the twins doing Britney Spears hang on, let me re-phrase that. The twins performed Britney's 'Oops…I Did It Again' and words cannot describe. For those not familiar with John & Edward imagine Napoleon Dynamite dressed head to toe in red PVC dancing and singing and you get the gist. It was so bad it was good.

Anyway, on the website this week we have all the latest news, reviews. Hot new videos, including a performance of 'School' from Nirvana's soon to be released DVD of their legendary Reading gig.
