Parisian electro quirksters Housse De Racket sound a decent prospect for 2010 with this new single. ‘Synthetiseur’ is a potent concoction of peppy synth lines and crashing power chords, topped off with melodic Francophone lyricising. It rides an infectious electro beat which renders the whole thing crazily danceable, while the vocals wrap it up as a catchy pop song.
B-side ‘Sur le papier’ is a more straight-up pop outing, also very catchy but eschewing the explosive dance qualities of the first track in favour of a more guitar-heavy mix. Together, they make for a promising listen. It’ll be interesting to see how Housse De Racket fare in the coming year; a coveted UK tour support slot with indie darlings Does it offend you, yeah? should see their stock rise this side of the channel.
