The Raveonettes - Bang!/Last Dance
Album Review

The Raveonettes – Bang!/Last Dance

Listening to the Raveonettes is enough to make anyone think they are living forty decades back in time…at least, and the latest release is the same.

That’s not saying that this is where it should stay mind. A double A-side, Bang! is a great piece, lyrically masterful and musically pretty, all in all a fantastic piece of pop.
It seems to lack that je ne sais quoi of spontaneousity, but is short enough to keep your attention…just.

The Last Dance is definitely the track that should be more prominent. A simply stronger track, though less radio friendly than Bang!, it is definitely the track to sample. Luckily, although not doing anything new, the Raveonettes are bringing to life that long forgotten 50s/60s pop, and making it now. I suppose they do say that all the fashions come round again, and luckily it is the right time for this.
Effortlessly done and fantastically classic a great release.
