Wolfmother are back and have some lineup changes with only figurehead front man Andrew Stockdale remaining from the original aftermath. So new lineup should produce a new focus, direction and sound right?
Wrong, its all about the 70’s for these regressive retro rockers. Sub-Zeppelin riffs that from time to time soar and hold your gaze for a split second. Their sound is loud and clean and the vocals are tight and at times reminiscent of new hip hop ex- rock pin up Chris Cornell. However in an age of nu-rock and bands producing a harder more aggressive sound its just lacking a bit of killer edge. I am incredulous to believe that it will bring an army of new fans but will certainly galvanise their existing fanbase.
