Baby Monster – Ultra Violence And Beethoven

Coming on like an electro Mercury Rev or a robotronic MGMT, the sweet and sudden synth-sonnet of Ultra Violence and Beethoven that Baby Monster produce will keep everyone on edge for its wavy duration. It is a song so full of phantom fun and dreamy droog imagery that you half expect a scream of “This is dystopia!” in its gorgeous climb down and swooning climax.

Here, Baby Monster manage to produce a clever adaptation of an electric lo-fi that is steadily becoming the choice sound for both the listener with a critical ear and the listener with a mystical heart; the purest example of washed out wonder this side of Merriweather Post Pavilion and sure to be met with an album just as lazily beautiful.
