The Courteeners To Make New Track Available Free To Coincide With Hometown Show

Having just completed the recording of their second as yet untitled album with producer Ed Buller (Suede, Pulp) at the helm and mixed in New York with the legendary Michael Brauer, The Courteeners return with a SOLD OUT show at Manchester’s 10,000 capacity Central on December 11th 2009.

2009 has been a landmark year for The Courteeners. Not only did they complete the follow up to their top 5 debut album St Jude, released in April 2008, but the Manchester band has also interrupted recording for an outstanding set of live appearances both in the UK and in the States.

Early this year saw Liam Fray and his band decamp to the US where they were guests of Morrissey on the US leg of his world tour; subsequent shows saw them headline three shows in their own right winning accolades from the US media in the process. The band returned on the back of those shows to put in an incredible main stage appearance at the Coachella Festival, before leaving audiences at the Reading and Leeds festivals in raptures in August.

To coincide with the Manchester Central show and as a taster for next year’s album a brand new track called ‘Cross My Heart & Hope To Fly’ will be available as a free download on December 7th from the band’s website – link. In addition a 7” collectable single will also be available with an exclusive b side. Fans can also pre-order the album at the same time and get the 7” along with their name printed in the album CD booklet.

The band’s follow up to St. Jude will be released in February 2010. A UK tour will be announced shortly…
