Black Gold 'Idols'

“Black Gold have been described as a rare commodity indeed for their ability in merging past and present musical styles that manage to delineate as much as deviate from their influences”

The Fly, November 2009

“Idols” is the third single (released December 14th) from Rush, Black Gold's debut album. Built around a lush vocal line, and anthemic chorus, this track is an uplifting and positive, a real album highlight. The video, directed by new-comer Tamara Gildengers Connolly, is a nod to 60's psychedelia and draws inspiration from The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour movie, with a little hint of more contempory acts like Panic! At The Disco, lead singer Eric Ronicks former group.

After their successful support of Neko Case in September, Black Gold return to the UK this December. Fresh from gigs with The Pixies in America, the duo play a nationwide tour, to coincide with Idols release. Calling at the following venues:

· The Lexington, London – 8th of December w/Book House Boys

· Hare and Hounds, Birmingham – 9th w/Book House Boys

· King Tuts, Glasgow – 10th w/Book House Boys

· Cockpit 3, Leeds – 11th w/Book House Boys

· Portland Arms, Cambridge – 12th w/Book House Boys

· Freebutt, Brighton – 13th w/Book House Boys
