The BBC have released their short-list for the annual 'Sound of..', and 2010 is no exception to the always beyond-exceptional list. Fifteen artists are competing for the sparkling top five names on the influencial list.
165 various music bloggers, editors, presenters and critics formed the judging panel this year, each naming their top three predictions for success in year one of the new decade.
Neon Gold signings Ellie Goudling and the gorgeous Marina and The Diamonds have thankfully been included. Both girls look set to be front-runners for the coveted top spots due to their recent exposure and devout fan following.
Promising quartet The Drums look set to stampede upon 2010 with their contagious and catchy songs. The unique and eclecitc American band sound like a modern day Beach Boys on single 'Let's Go Surfing'.
Soul songstress Rox certainly won't be rox-ing in 2010. She will be soulfully climbing to the very top with her huge voice and cute, smiling charm. The uncanny Lauryn Hill-a-like sounds similar to a mixture between Alicia Keys and Corinne Bailey Rae.
Rounding out the top fifteen are Mancunian slow disco duo Hurts, indie-electro rockers Delphic (a bit like the Klaxons) and indie-folk warblers Stonoway from Oxford.
Previous winners include Adele and Mika, with Little Boots set to finish off her stellar year as the sound of '09.
