Is Tropical – ‘When O When’

Segmented searching builds from a mildly cooing, low-key indie and slight sonic base as this debut single ‘When O When’, provides rhythmic bemusement, before veering off into a Klaxons fuelled semi-stomp, then settling into a sonic groove.

This London trio does enough delving in this post four minute foray to tempt you in with their variety and their ability to still produce a thread of meaning, whilst at the same time giving off a wandering vibe.

Bluesy hued and mainly instrumental B-side ‘Seasick Mutiny’, is the sort of track that The Coral would produce if they’d chosen a more sinister track instead of regressing back to their Beatles records. Is Tropical are truly exploring the full range of pop music and, their broadness will no doubt make sure that it won’t be a lonely journey for them!
