Crookers… The Darlings of the Dance, Blog-land’s MVP’s, the Jewell in Milan’s crown, continue their journey from Dance’s best kept secret to straight up superstar producers.
Money can’t buy you friends but talent in abundance seems to do the trick… these guys now have tons of them, many of whom have found themselves in the Crookers studio lately. Take Miike Snow, what a year 2009 was for them. Whilst enjoying chart success and touring the world, they also found time to hook up with the Italian duo to record this stunning little ditty. It comes as no surprise that this sensational collaboration bring class, depth and outstanding quality pulling influences from every direction imaginable.
“Remedy” is taken from the forthcoming ‘Tons Of Friends’ album, which is released in March 2010. It’s clearly a bit of departure from the ear-drum brutality of their dance-floor classics ‘Knobbers’ or ‘Sveglia’ and whilst it’s probably a closer neighbour to their Kid Cudi “Day N’ Nite’ hit, “Remedy” stands out as a rather accomplished collaboration… a completely unique prospect, with plenty more to follow.
An eye catching remix package accompanies the single… Cassius doesn’t disappoint going deep with an exquisite House mix, Crookers loved Cassius’ mix so much, they insisted on producing their own edit of it, in true Crookers style. Aussie based, UK producer, Magik Johnson provides three takes on the original with his Radio, Vocal and the darker Acid Thunder Dub mixes. Riton and Alex Kid both bring the goods with stylish reworks. Whilst Manchester based new kid on the block Numan supplies shear beauty, with a edit that goes heavy on the synths.
