Lily Allen has confirmed that she will quit music…again. The opinionated singer has announced that her final performance for the forseable future will be on March 7. Allen told Sky News that a gig in London’s O2 Arena will be her last “for at least five years”.
The ‘Fear’ singer has decided to switch her focus onto opening a vintage clothing store. Allen will open the store, called ‘Lucy In Disguise’ with her half-sister Sarah Owen. Speaking about the shop which will be opened in a central London location, Lily says “I’m in the office every day, sourcing clothes and getting really excited ”.
Lily has also started a fashion project with designer Wayne Hemingway. The idea is to launch a music/fashion festival called ‘Vintage at Goodwood‘ in August. The details about the project are limited but influences from the 1940’s through to the Sixties will fuel the event.
Hemingway is most noted for being the co-founder of luxury label ‘Red Or Dead‘. BBC News is reporting that Sandie Show, Heaven 17, Aswad, Buzzcocks and The Damned are confirmed for the West Sussex festival. The designer has envisioned the festival living up to the 1951 Festival of Britain.
