Little Boots is set to get a bit creepy for her next album. The 'Remedy' singer, is currently working at her follow-up album to 2009 hit 'Hands'.
Speaking to Artist Direct, Victoria explained that the next album is a progression from what was hinted at on Hands. “It'll still be magical, but quite dark and spooky at the same time.” When asked what fans can expect from the record, Little Boots stated that her song 'Ghost' is the closest indication of the direction she will take.
She is also said to have drawn inspiration from the poetry of Edgar Allen Poe and Sylvia Plath.
Hands took a more futuristic approach, with Victoria branding the atmosphere as a space oddysey. The singer preceded Ellie Goulding by winning the coveted Sound of.. poll by the BBC in 2009.
It seems the direction Little Boots wants to take is reminiscent of the change Goldfrapp went through . Between albums Supernature and Seventh Tree Allison and Will switched quite frankly from futuristic electro to darker indie folk. Seventh Tree is often described as Goldfrapp's best work yet, here's hoping Little Boots receives the same praise.
