Hot on the heels of their sold out and critically acclaimed UK tour (which included a very special Brixton all-nighter) and following the release of the band’s masterful fourth long player and ubiquitous single ‘One Life Stand’, Hot Chip are delighted to announce details of their new single “I Feel Better”, released April 19th on Parlophone records.
Indeed, Hot Chip are back with an epic hit of euphoric hands-in-the-air bliss. A House stomp that summons up the spirit of Black Box, S’Express and InnerCity’s ‘Goodlife’ and takes inspiration from the burgeoning UK Funky scene. From computer looped strings and Joe Goddard's Auto-Tuned vocals, the track simmers away before the chorus lifts-off with enough power to blow a fuse in your speakers! It’s one of the great pop choruses of our time; clunky Chicago house synths colliding with an uplifting vocal sung by Alexis Taylor as if he's been waiting all his life to sing it. ‘I Feel Better” is pulsing modern-day disco: an electronic punch that refuses to sacrifice any emotional complexity. In short, it’s a track that belongs in nodding heads, dancing feet and the annals of great contemporary pop music.
‘I Feel Better' has had a phenomenal reaction on the band’s recently completed UK tour with the song rivaling 'Over and Over' and 'Ready For The Floor' in terms of audience reaction every night, despite having only appeared as an album track so far.
