Florida’s finest, Mayday Parade, have announced they are to support Madina Lake on their forthcoming UK tour which kicks off in Nottingham on March 27th and includes a date at London’s Kentish Town Forum on April 8th.
The pop-punk hero’s have been a near-constant presence on the road since their formation in 2005. The band have shared stages with the likes of All Time Low, The Academy Is…, Set Your Goals and The Secret Handshake to name a few, and taken part in the prestigious Vans Warped Tour. Their forthcoming UK shows will mark Mayday Parade’s first return to these shores since wowing crowds at The Give It A Name festival in 2008.
The band released new album “Anywhere But Here” in the US late last year, produced and mixed by David Bendeth (Paramore, All Time Low, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus), it debuted at #31 on the Billboard 200. Prime rock website AbsolutePunk.net said of the album “Mayday Parade always had the instincts necessary for stardom, and this record pushes them further in that direction.” The album is available now in the UK through iTunes.
“Anywhere But Here” follows Mayday Parade’s 2007 breakthrough debut, “A Lesson In Romantics,” which catapulted the young quintet to the forefront of modern punk-pop. Fueled by the band’s fervent fan following, the album made a top 10 debut on Billboard’s “Top Heatseekers” chart on its way to sales exceeding 100,000.
