Acclaimed singer, songwriter and producer, V V Brown and her collaborator, film director and illustrator David Allain are excited to announce the launch of their new comic book series, The City of Abacus. The first volume of a multi-volume series will launch with an exhibition and event at The Book Club, Shoreditch, on 6 May 2010.
Bringing together the creative talents of V V Brown, David Allain and comic illustrator Emma Price, The City of Abacus is a dark futuristic tale of corruption, rebellion and adventure, set in the eerie city of Abacus, presided over by evil ruler Queen Virusos, where music is banned, creative objects have become mysterious relics and the city’s people have their thoughts controlled by the ‘MX-41’. Only the orphaned heroine Freeda is unsettled by this conformity.
The City of Abacus will be released in a series of instalments throughout 2010, with the complete graphic novel being released at the end of the year. In addition, an original composition of music will be released digitally with each volume.
The City of Abacus will be available to buy from 6 May at link.
