The Temper Trap return to the UK this spring with a new single ‘Science of Fear’ released on 19th April for Infectious Music and play their biggest tour to date, which includes an incredible three sold out shows at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire.
The band is also confirmed to play several major UK festivals this summer including a headline slot on the second stage at Wireless In London, The Channel 4 stage at V festival and Scotland’s T In The Park.
2009 was a phenomenal year for the band which saw their debut album ‘Conditions’ achieve silver status within weeks of its release and has gone on to sell over 150,000 copies. The single ‘Sweet Disposition’ spent a staggering 29 weeks in the chart, slowly climbing to the top ten in the old time fashion of a proper hit – selling over 250,000 copies in the process (over half a million copies worldwide). They finished the year in the UK touring as special guests to Florence and the Machine and a celebratory sold out show at Koko in London (as the city came to a stop with the heaviest snow of the winter!). They then headed home to the sun in Australia along with a Platinum album and started 2010 as one of the main draws on the Big Day Out festival.
In March they travel to the US where the word has spread, shows are selling out and extra gigs are being added to their tour, including 2 already sold out shows in New York before heading back to the UK at the end of April.
‘Science of Fear’ is released on 12” single and digitally with mixes by Michael Woods , Rock Da World, and Mistabishi, sure to be filling the clubs and airwaves like their predecessors.
