April rolls on and the excitement just won’t let up…. It’s a welcome return to Shuffle on Saturday 10th April for electro remix king ALEX METRIC and a debut at Plug for the awesome DJ/producer DRUMS OF DEATH.
We love Alex Metric. Not only is he a thoroughly nice man, but he’s also a demon remixer of all things great and good and a wicked DJ too. First discovered by Adam Freeland, who promptly signed him straight up to his Marine Parade imprint, Alex hasn’t looked back since. Starting off with a more breaksy sound he's since developed and morphed it into a wondrous mix of big synths, filthy bass and epic breakdowns.
His talents were very quickly noticed by a slew of big indie talent, who were soon all hammering at his door for a spot of the Metric remix magic. Hard Fi, Alphabeat and Ladyhawke have all had a brush with the Metric one and to check where his head’s currently at he’s just dropped a MASSIVE remix of the new Gorillaz tune.
When he's not remixing the world’s best acts Alex has been growing a fine reputation as one of the most up for it dance floor rocking DJs around. His genre-mashing sound – which the man himself describes as 'less of a steady build… more of a really, really unsafe rollercoaster' – has seen him raising roofs across the world at loads of clubs and festivals.
Joining him will be the super hot right now DRUMS OF DEATH. The Glasgow producer is currently riding the crest of a media wave at the moment after his own Got Yr Thing track and Hot Chip’s One Life Stand remix have blown everyone away. Everyone from Erol Alkan to 2ManyDJs and Felix Da Housecat have been hammering them and sending clubbers into aural heaven. Big drums (obviously), big basslines and plenty of acid wobbles all blend together to send the floor wild. Together with Alex Metric this night is going to melt your brains, in a nice way of course. Big things!
The Live room it’s FLOORFILLERS bringing its Saturday night magic into the venue for more weekend escapism.
