K-Os – I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman

I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman’ is the debut single release from K-OS’ new album ‘Yes’. It’s a brilliant, infectious slice of cool pop that calls to mind the heady, carefree days of summer.

Sampling Phantom Planet’s ‘California’ it features rapper Saukrates and none other than songbird Nelly Furtado on vocals. With its feel good vibes it’s the perfect antithesis to what feels like the longest, darkest winter on record.

K-OS will release his fourth album ‘Yes’ on 3rd May 2010 and it also features collaborations with Metric’s Emily Haines and The Dears Murray Lightburn.

The son of Jehovah’s Witnesses, K-OS (né Kheaven Brereton) wasn’t even allowed out of the house until he was 21. Since then, the man has been making up for lost time, debuting in 2003 with ‘Exit’ (featuring the b-boy anthem ‘Superstarr, Pt. Zero’), followed by 2004's ‘Joyful Rebellion’ and 2006's ‘Atlantis: Hymns for Disco’.

Cumulatively, the emcee has racked up platinum and gold albums, three Juno Awards, four MuchMusic Awards, six Canadian Urban Music Awards, a Source Award for Best International Hip-Hop Artist and a Grammy nomination for his collaboration with The Chemical Brothers on ‘Get Yourself High’.
