Wichita Recordings, the independent UK record label which brought us Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bright Eyes, The Cribs, Simian Mobile Disco, My Morning Jacket, Les Savy Fav, The Bronx, Peter, Bjorn & John, First Aid Kit, Los Campesinos! and many more celebrates its 10 year anniversary this summer.
To mark this momentous occasion, Wichita have planned a series of special releases and events.
First up, a clutch of limited edition vinyl releases for Record Store Day (link) on 17 April from Bright Eyes, The Cribs, Simian Mobile Disco, Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, First Aid Kit and Peggy Sue.
There follows a series of shows and parties for May. Confirmed so far are events at Primavera Festival in Spain, The Great Escape in Brighton and Stag & Dagger in London. A week of special shows for London in July will be announced very soon.

BIRTHDAY RELEASES
Record Store Day special vinyl release information: Wichita's debut release in July 2000 was Bright Eyes' Fever & Mirrors album. This April it gets its first official vinyl release in Europe. Also available for the first time on vinyl will be The Cribs' eponymous debut, which will include a CD of their original demos. Simian Mobile Disco's Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release LP and Bloc Party's Silent Alarm will both be re-pressed on vinyl. Silent Alarm will come with a bonus 7″; Little Thoughts b/w Storm and Stress.
All LPs are limited to 1000 copies and will come in deluxe packaging on heavy-weight vinyl.
In addition, Yeah Yeah Yeahs' debut EP will be made available again on vinyl for the first time in six years (limited to 500 copies) and First Aid Kit & Peggy Sue will release a special split 7″ Josefin / I Read It In The Paper (limited to 700 copies).
