Moshi Moshi and Wichita Host The Sheep Dip At Lounge On The Farm

With a host of heavyweight acts including Martha & The Vandellas, Toots & The Maytals, Courtney Pine & Fionn Regan already announced, Lounge On The Farm (LOTF) winner of the UK Festival Awards’ Best Line Up gong in 2009 is set to add some truly cutting edge trailblazers who will be joining the party at Merton Farm, Canterbury on the weekend of July 9th-11th.

Once again forging their own path, LOTF are proud to announce some very special guests for Saturday July 10th. Revered indie label Moshi Moshi Records, which has been responsible for helping to launch the careers of Hot Chip, Bloc Party and Florence & The Machine, will be making their way to the heart of Kent to host all day Saturday in the Sheepdip in conjunction with Wichita Records who this year celebrate their tenth anniversary of releasing records from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bright Eyes, Bloc Party, The Cribs and many more.

The two labels will be showcasing the wealth of new blood on their respective rosters and such is their collective reputation for sniffing out the next big thing, you can guarantee that the day will be littered with soon-to-be stadium fillers including; alt.folk aficionados Slow Club, the enigmatic Silver Columns, skeewiff punk-popsters Hot Club De Paris, woozy romantics The Wave Pictures, folktronic purveyor James Yuill, new wave musique concrete genius Gold Panda, Swedish close-vocal harmonisers First Aid Kit, ramshackle nu-C86-ers Veronica Falls, lo-fi electro kingpin Dam Mantle, wall of sound worshippers Spectrals and drooladelic chillwavers Summer Camp.

As previously announced Saturday will also see Camden’s famed gig-spot The Flowerpot on the farm to host the Farm Folk tent on Saturday which will be headlined by sublime sibling rock n rollers Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, more details on that soon plus LOTF’s championing of new music continues with You Say They Play which is back bigger and better in 2010. Now giving a whopping 36 local bands the chance to play at the festival, You Say The Play is a new band search spanning the whole of Kent – visit link for more details. And don’t forget that there will also be the under 18s bands stage School Of Rock and a wealth of brilliant attractions including comedy, theatre, burlesque and vaudeville, the kids’ Little Lounge area and, of course, the award winning food and drink concessions that make Lounge on the Farm one of the festival calendar’s true gems.
