Daniel Sullivan, the man who pushed Noel Gallagher on stage at the Canadian V Festival, has escaped a jail sentence.
Sullivan will instead serve a twelve month sentence in the community while under house arrest.
The prosecution were reported to be seeking a 6-8 month jail sentence after Sullivan pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm.
Sullivan pleaded guilty to assaulting Gallagher last November and said that he was “profoundly sorry” for his actions. Sullivan's lawyer said that his client had “virtually no recollection of how or why he found himself on the stage.”
'I just want to express my sincere apology to the victim,' Sullivan told the court.
Noel has launched a $2-million civil suit against Sullivan.
