Coming hot on the heels of the thunderous twelve-minute dancefloor bombardment that is Escape Velocity, The Chemical Brothers officially release the first track from their forthcoming seventh studio album Further.
Played for the first time on Zane Lowe’s show on May 6th as Hottest Record In The World and now with all discerning radio stations, rarely has a record been more aptly named. Swoon is the sound of the start of summer, as blissful a sound as you can imagine, like My Bloody Valentine playing live in zero gravity. It’s the Chemical Brothers at their most sublime.
The track will be made available through usual download outlets. The release comes with an embedded link to the visuals for the track made exclusively for the release by the band’s long-time collaborators Adam Smith and Marcus Lyall aka Flat Nosed George.
The band will be debuting the new album with four shows running from the 20 – 23rd May at the Roundhouse (which sold out in record time) and gigs at Sonar Festival and selected festivals in Europe. These shows will see the band play the album and Smith and Lyall’s new films in their entirety. These will only be seen in sequence at those gigs. The Roundhouse shows will be the first chance to hear the new album anywhere.
The new album, Further, will be released on Freestyle Dust / Parlophone Records June 14th.
