UNKLE – Follow Me Down

To accompany the release of the lead single ‘Follow Me Down’, out on June 7th on Surrender All, and taken from the critically acclaimed new album ‘Where Did The Night Fall’, UNKLE reveal a video which sees them once again collaborate with some of the most influential and creative figures in fashion, art and film.

Directed by long-term UNKLE contributors Warren Du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones, who have previously worked with the likes of Alexander McQueen and Bjork, they seamlessly weave their hyper-visual, three dimensional aesthetic around the stirring, desert-scorched ‘Follow Me Down’, which features a haunting vocal from Rachel Williams of Sleepy Sun.

The video stars international supermodel Liberty Ross shrouded in clouds of smoke, adorned only in a horned headpiece and chameleon-like body print, designed by the award-winning Boudicca, renowned for their ground-breaking designs. Set in the otherworldly surrounds of what initially appears to be an abandoned warehouse, the clip expands upon the striking album artwork of ‘Where Did The Night Fall’. As the song reaches its predatory climax against a backdrop of tribal drums, the elements collide and Ross disperses, as if only a seductive mirage.

Another collaborator in the video is the director of photography Dan Landin who has worked on some of the most iconic videos of the last two decades including Radiohead’s ‘No Suprises’ and Massive Attack’s ‘Teardrop’. With such a calibre of contributors, also including the amazing choreographer Russell Malliphant and genius makeup artist Alex Box , the ‘Follow Me Down’ video is seemingly the perfect accompaniment to the new single, a visual spectacle and an absolute must see.
